On November 15th, the record-breaking hotel officially opened its doors, and the world took notice. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the First Group celebrated this momentous occasion: "Today, we proudly unveil Ciel Dubai Marina, the world's tallest hotel, shining as a beacon in the heart of Dubai Marina. Ciel is more than just a building; it's a testament to innovation, ambition, and the belief that true progress happens when vision becomes reality. This landmark stands as a tribute to Dubai's pioneering spirit and a reminder that the future is built, not merely imagined."
The post featured a captivating video showcasing the hotel's luxurious glass exterior and its 82 floors. A unique design element, known as the "eye of the needle," graces the top of the structure, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes. As Burns explained, "While height is desirable, we needed to minimize wind load. By incorporating the cutout, we allow the wind to pass through the tower."
In addition to its luxurious rooms, the hotel boasts "social community spaces," described by architect Yahya Jan as "small parks," transforming the tower into a series of "smaller neighborhoods."
Despite its recent opening, the hotel has already made a significant impact. According to Gulf News, only 200 of its 1004 rooms remain unoccupied. Room rates range from $375 per night for a deluxe room to $545 for a king suite, offering guests a range of options to suit their preferences.
Inside, a central atrium filled with natural light greets guests, thanks to the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. With eight dining venues, three pools (including an infinity pool on level 76, located in the eye of the needle), a fitness center, and a business center, guests are treated to an array of amenities.
