The seventh day of the US-Israel war on Iran has brought a surge in the intensity of bombing in Tehran, according to an Al Jazeera correspondent. The capital city has been under relentless air attacks, with explosions rocking residential areas and the vicinity of Tehran University. The Iranian military academy, where a journalist from Iran's state broadcaster was reporting live, was also struck. The bombardment has been described as more severe than previously witnessed, with numerous attacks in the east and southeast of Tehran. The US Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, warned of an upcoming dramatic escalation in the attacks, while Israel's military claimed to have destroyed most of Iran's air defenses and missile launchers. The US has also dropped 'penetrator' bombs on deeply buried ballistic missile launchers, according to Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command (CENTCOM). The attacks have resulted in the deaths of at least 1,230 people, including 181 children, since Saturday. Among the young victims were 175 children killed when a girls' school in Minab was hit on the first day of the strikes. The US military is investigating the incident, which, if confirmed, would be a war crime and one of the worst cases of civilian casualties in decades of US wars in the Middle East. The war has also seen Iran targeting the Israeli embassy in Bahrain, with Saudi Arabia intercepting a missile.
