Magic's Business of Basketball Summit in Berlin: A Global NBA Experience (2026)

The Orlando Magic are making serious moves, and their recent summit in Berlin proves it! They're not just playing basketball; they're building global connections. This week, the Magic hosted a 'Business of Basketball Summit' at the Ritz Carlton in Berlin, drawing over 100 guests, including key players from agencies and brands based in Germany. The event was packed with opportunities for networking, a delicious lunch, and three insightful panel discussions.

To kick things off, Magic SVP/Global Partnerships JT McWalters and MHM Major founder Marcus Hofl shared their vision for bringing the Magic to Germany for the first-ever NBA regular-season game in the country.

The first panel brought together some of the Magic's top brass: Managing Director Ryan DeVos, President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman, Vice Chair Alex Martins, and President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman.

Next up was a session with McWalters and Hofl, joined by Magic Chief Sales Officer Michael Forde and Deutsch Telekom SVP Henning Stiegenroth, where they discussed the team's successful partnerships in Germany.

Finally, a sports marketing roundtable featured three of the Magic's long-term partners: PepsiCo President/South Division Heather Hoytink, Kia VP/Southern Region Operations Percy Vaughn, and AdventHealth President & CEO David Banks.

But here's where it gets exciting: The team also hosted a pre-game reception that evening before heading to the game at Uber Arena (SBJ). This shows a commitment to building relationships and creating a buzz around the team.

Speaking of opportunities, don't forget! Nominations are now open for the 2026 Sports Business Awards. You can submit your nominations today! The deadline is January 26th.
