Hasselblad Masters 2026: Capture the World's Attention
The renowned Hasselblad Masters photography competition is back, and the 2026 edition is now open for entries! Aspiring and professional photographers alike are invited to showcase their talent across seven captivating categories. The grand prize? A Hasselblad camera kit, including the cutting-edge Hasselblad X2D II 100C, and a €5,000 cash reward. But that's not all—the overall winner will be crowned a "Hasselblad Master," joining an elite circle of photographers.
Since its inception in 2001, Hasselblad Masters has been a beacon for photographers worldwide, offering a platform to celebrate and elevate their craft. The last edition, Hasselblad Masters 2023, showcased the pinnacle of fine art photography. Hasselblad's commitment to supporting photographers extends beyond competitions. They've awarded the 2025 Hasselblad Award to Sophie Ristelhueber, offering a staggering $200,000, and provided funding for photographers to publish their photo books through the Hasselblad Foundation.
The 2026 Grand Jury is a powerhouse of expertise, featuring leading professionals from the imaging community. Chairing the jury is Kalle Sanner, Executive Director of the Hasselblad Foundation. Joining Sanner are seven other esteemed jurors: Alex Pollack (National Geographic's Director of Photography), Aya Musa (Senior Curator at Foam), Paul Lachenauer (The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Managing Photographer), Rebecca Swift (Getty Images' Creative Vice President), Rong Rong (The Three Shadows Photography Art Centre's co-founder and artistic director), Sonia Jeunet (Magnum Photos' Global Education Director), and Zack Hatfield (Aperture Magazine's Managing Editor).
The jury will meticulously evaluate entries across seven diverse categories: Landscape, Architecture, Portrait, Street, Art, Project // 21, and Wildlife. While most categories are straightforward, Project // 21 deserves special attention. This category is exclusively for photographers aged 21 and under, offering complete creative freedom in themes and genres. Hasselblad seeks works that embody youthful energy, pushing the boundaries of photographic technology while showcasing independent thinking, keen observation, and genuine creativity.
Each category winner will receive a Hasselblad camera kit, including the X2D II 100C and two XCD lenses of their choice, along with the €5,000 cash prize. The competition is open to all photographers, regardless of their camera brand. Entries are accepted until February 28, 2026, with finalists revealed on April 28, 2026, and winners announced on June 30, 2026. Don't miss out!
