Airbus Issues Precautionary Fleet Action for A320 Family Aircraft
Toulouse, France, November 28, 2025: In a recent development, Airbus has taken a proactive approach to ensure the safety of its A320 Family aircraft. An incident involving intense solar radiation has led to a critical discovery: this phenomenon can potentially corrupt essential data used in flight controls.
This revelation has prompted Airbus to take swift action. They have identified a significant number of A320 Family aircraft currently in service that may be affected by this issue. To address this, Airbus has collaborated with aviation authorities and issued an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) to operators, urging them to take immediate precautionary measures.
The AOT includes instructions to implement available software and/or hardware protections. This will ensure the fleet's safety and functionality. The AOT will also be reflected in an Emergency Airworthiness Directive from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Airbus understands that these actions may cause operational disruptions for passengers and customers. They apologize for any inconvenience and emphasize that safety remains their top priority. Airbus is committed to working closely with operators to resolve any issues and maintain the highest standards of aviation safety.
This precautionary fleet action highlights Airbus's dedication to passenger and aircraft safety, even in the face of potential challenges.
